After scraping the rims on my Tesla, I was pretty upset. Looking through local curb rash repair options, I decided to go with Curbrashed Mobile Wheel Repair because of their large volume of positive reviews, even though their rates run a bit higher than competitors. After negotiating the final price, I decided to go beyond just the curb rash repair and opted for a gloss black paint job on all four wheels at $200 per rim ($800 total). The convenience was great—he arrived promptly in the morning, had all the necessary equipment, and completed the entire job right in my driveway in about five hours while making sure no paint ended up on the concrete. Esthetically, the gloss black finish came out looking great, and the original rash was completely gone. However, there are a couple of things potential customers should keep in mind. First, paint does get onto the brake discs, which he pointed out after finishing. Because of this, there was a noticeable scraping sound every time I applied the brakes for the first few days until the friction wore the excess paint away. Second, when paying via Venmo, be prepared for tipping prompts that start at 20% or higher. For a specialized automotive service with an agreed-upon flat fee, being pushed for a 20%+ tip feels out of place—much like being expected to tip 20% on an oil change.
